Are you qualified to train dogs?
Yes. I have a nationally accredited qualification obtained through two years of study with the National Dog Trainers Federation Australia, I am also an Associate member of the International Association of Canine Professionals and the APDT Australia.
Do you train Therapy dogs?
No, I am not yet accredited to train therapy or service dogs or to perform the P.A.T, but this is something that is currently in "the works"
What aspects of dog training can you help me with?
I can help with all aspects of basic obedience including on-leash walking, housebreaking, destructive behaviour, leash reactivity, bad manners such as jumping up on visitors, introducing a puppy to your family, breed selection as well as advice on diet and nutrition. I do not teach agility, security, bite work or sport dogs.
My dog has bitten someone, can you help?
I can help you acclimatize your dog to wearing a muzzle or being placed in an enclosure whilst visitors are near, but I do not re-habilitate dogs that are human aggressive without provocation.
Do you offer board and train?
Do we come to you?
No, I come to you. Dogs not only learn better in a familiar environment, but they are more likely to display the behaviours you need help with at home. It also helps me to see the dogs immediate environment when diagnosing problem behaviours.
I have two dogs, will a lesson cost me twice as much?
No, I charge for my time, not per dog.
Do I need to be there for the training?
Yes! "Dog Trainer" is a bit of a misnomer - I really train the owner how to train their dog.
How can I find out when classes are on?
I post all class intakes on my facebook page.
